Nelson Mandela Bay’s local Ford dealership, Eastern Cape Motors, recently revved up their support for the third annual Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens to be held in Port Elizabeth in December.
Two brand-new Ford Focus cars have already been branded and handed over to the organisers for their driving delight leading up to and during the NMB Sevens, which will take place in the Friendly City for the third year running.
According to Dale Cuthbert, Eastern Cape Motors’ sales manager, the Focus was specifically chosen for its sporty looks. “With its sporty looks and striking branding, the Ford Focus suits the tournament image to a T.”
Eastern Cape Motors’ dealer principal, Stephen Theodosiou, says they are very proud to form part of the Sevens action.
“An international event of this calibre stimulates the local economy tremendously. This is why I strongly feel that local business should throw its weight behind the initiative.”
He says that high profile events, such as the NMB Sevens, create valuable exposure for the city and the region, which leads to local and foreign investments and ultimately job opportunities.
NMB Sevens’ marketing director, Laurence Finn, says it was of paramount importance for them to forge a relationship with Ford. “Ford is an accredited SA Rugby sponsor and the strategic alignment between our brand and theirs is priceless.”
He added that, in terms of local business, it is wonderful to know that PE has forward thinking companies such as Eastern Cape Motors.
“As the largest established dealer group in the region, I think it is very important for us to give back to the community that’s been supporting us over many years,” says Theodosiou.
Having won the Ford Large Metro Dealer of the Year Award for Customer Excellence for eight consecutive years, Theodosiou says this would not have been possible without the support of the people in the Eastern Cape.
Our motto is “Service Beyond our Clients’ Expectations”, but, without buyers, no one can provide service and no awards can be won,” he says.
